Story Time with Ms. Gem
Wrap up Filipino-American History Month with a story time by bunok's own Ms. Gem. Ms. Gem will be reading "Bunso Meets a Mumu" by Rev Valdez, a book that introduces people to Filipino culture, language, and mythology.

About the event
Ms. Gem is one half of the ownership at bundok books. She holds a double English major in literary studies and creative writing and has been a poetry mentor, creative writing instructor, and head editor of a literary magazine.
In her limited spare time, she enjoys journaling, relaxing with her two furbabies, admiring unicorns, trying delicious new foods, and playing board games.
Bunso Meets a Mumu, written & illustrated by Rev Valdez, is a playful, comic-style picture book that follows the baby of the family as he encounters a mythical creature from Filipino folklore. The book is written in English, with some Tagalog words sprinkled throughout for readers to learn.
Storytime will begin with a quick activity to spark imagination, then some drawing on a mini pumpkin (provided for free), before a readaloud.
FREE to attend.
Age group: best for early elementary (Kidergarten-2nd grade, 5-8 years old), but all ages welcome!
